Monday 28th
Leopardstown 2.30
Result: -What A Friend wins. Cooldine pulled too hard early on and was never able to muster a finish.
Cooldine Lost -5 Points
Lexus Chase  Notre Pere won the Welsh National last year but does not defend his crown at Chepstow and with last years winner of this event, Exotic Dancer, sadly dying after running at Aintree this may initially look a weakish affair but there is plenty of meat left to pick over when the formbook is consulted.
After playing the bridesmaid to Kauto Star and Master Minded in so many events over the past few seasons this event may well fall the way of Voy Pour Estedes but he has some very stiff opposition to overcome in the form of What A Friend who improved impressively when finishing second to Denman at Newbury in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup and with Barbers Shop showing up so well in the King George that form is reading well already. Joncol is a big strapping chaser and showed his wellbeing by winning the John Durkan where he beat the lightly raced In Compliance and some other noteable novices. Cooldine (6/1 Ladbrokes) is the choice mount of Ruby Walsh and given his in-dept knowledge of the two strongest stables either side of the Irish Sea this hint alone should be enough to raise expectations of a big run from the Royal and Sun Alliance Chase winner. A winning margin of 16 lenghts that day was impressive in its own merit but he also had What A Friend well behind to boot.
Stakes: - 5 Points Win Cooldine.

Saturday, December 26

Sunday 27th
Kempton 2.40

Result: -Well Chief finishes 2nd to Petit Robin.
Well Chief Lost -3 Points
Desert Orchid Chase
This race will answer more questons about Crack Away Jack who undoubtally has talent and if able to improve his jumping to a degree where most of his energies are channelled into running then he can be a real force at this much trickier game of Chasing but until he displays that evidence in public we cannot place any faith in him producing an effort of sufficient merit to hold those that appear more battled hardened and unafraid of taking risks in this sphere.
Will Petit Robin improve enough to account for Well Chief (7/2 Paddy Power) with both of them hoping Mahogany Blaze has not improved past them both since all three previously met in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festivel last March?
Petit Robin was due to run in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon but was a late withdrawl and this makes me very suspicious about his well-being despite his stable firing on all cylinders over the last couple of weeks. Mahogany Blaze may prove the danger but his run in the Tingle Creek where he was behind Well Chief again was not that of a horse ready to run a career best race next time out. This leaves Well Chief to take-up the winning tread where he left off in the Connaught Chase at Cheltenham in November.
Stakes: - 3 Points Win Well Chief

Monday, December 21

Saturday 26th
Kempton 3.05
Result: -Kauto Star Wins +2.86 Points
King George VI Chase
Once again there is no denying the best horse in the race is Kauto Star (4/7 Paddy Power et al) His record in this race speaks for itself 3-3 and with 8-9 over this distance, the writing seems to be on the wall.
His odds are very prohibitive and given there could well be better value elsewhere but he is that short for very good reasons and as such has to carry my money. Imperial Commander has improved again from his highs of last season and if able to improve from his close run against Kauto in the Betfair Chase he could win this.
Imperial Commanders tactics will be limited by the immensly talented Kauto Star who has the ability to chase a fast pace and finish strongly or come to the front off a slow pace and use his all out pace to out run his opponents with pure speed. Kauto is by no means unbeatable given his jumping errors of the past but even that department has improved over time and it would be in poor taste to see such a fate befall a great champion. Barbers Shop is also improving and could well prove his run behind Denman was topdrawer and whilst not in the same league as Imperial Commander or Kauto Star at this stage of his career he is certainly in the right hands to make his way to the very top of the Steeple Chasing ladder, in time.
Stakes: - 5 Points win Kauto Star

Friday, December 18

Friday 18th
Wolverhampton 7.50
Result: - Totally out class Brierty finished last.
Brierty Lost - 4 points
The cold snap has limited my interest in horseracing and football is slowly becoming the main interest over the Christmas period with so many good matches in a short space of time but tonight only two horses stand out and they are Gallantry but of more interest now trying a visor for the first time is Brierty (25/1 Betfair) and with her trainer amongst the winners recently she looks a decent punt.

Wolverhampton 9.20
Result: -Fine Lace Lost -1 Point
Not convinced but having a small wager in the last with Domnic Ffrench Davis Fine Lace (9/1).
Stakes: - 2 points EW Brierty
1 Point win Fine Lace

Wednesday, December 16

Wednesday 16th
Kempton 8.20
Result: - Faded tamely
Capricorn Run Lost -2 Points
CAPRICORN RUN (SP) has the best form in my book and is worth a wager in this company.

Kempton 8.50

Result: -Won driven out.
Mustakmil Won +9 Points
Mustakmil (9/2 Paddy Power) Won a maiden race LTO and now steps into handicap company can win with Hayley Turney aboard for Simon Dow.

Kempton 9.20
Result: -Ran well  to finish 2nd.
Nativity Lost -2 Points
Unoriginal but the best ones always are! Nativity (4/1 Blue Square) has to be highly respected and with the time of year has to hit the bulls eye here.

Stakes: - 2 Points Win CAPRICORN RUN
 2 Points Win Mustakmil
2 Points Win Nativity

Sunday, December 13

Sunday 13th
Kempton 3.25
Result: - Dissapointing run but winner different class.
Lethal Lost -5 Points.
On the face of it this looks a weakish race and if you are to take the draw as a definitive factor then Lethal (9/2 Betfair) and Resplendant Alpha are the two with conditions in their favour and with Lethal having the best recent form after winning a Claiming race over C&D he is the one that can show these the way home. Jim Crowley is having a purple patch recently and his good run can continue as he takes the mount on Michael Scudamore trained 6yo again.
Stakes: - 5 Points Win Lethal
Sunday 13th
Cork 1.30

Result: - Never in contention.
Carthalawn Lost -4 Points
Very easy to make a selection in this Grade 2 race at Cork where Charthalawn (9/2 Befair)
boasts form lines of 22211 over the Mallow course.
Stakes: - 2 Points EW Charthalawn

Friday, December 11

Saturday 12th

Cheltenham 2.25
Result: - Right there until stumbled badly after the last and was lucky not to unship rider.
Chapoturgeon Lost -2 Points
The Boylesports.com Gold Cup
With the Paddy Power Gold Cup winner Tranquil Sea taken out of the race by Edward O'Grady (who incidentally is 6/1 for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown) leaving the door open for another novice to come and show his wares in the form of Poquelin. The Paul Nicholls trained 6yo was noted staying on strongly up the Cheltenham hill in the Paddy Power Gold Cup behind the aforementioned Tranquil Sea and looked as if he would improve further for that run. Edward O'Grady is still represented by Sky's The Limit sporting a visor again but he looks up against it.
With the Nicholls stable taking all the big prizes on offer over the last couple of Saturdays this big pot again looks within their grasp. Timmy Murphy rides Chapoturgeon (7/1 Betfair) for his boss David Johnson and he is the horse that looks to have most to prove in order to get his reputation back on track. He is held in very high regard at the Nicholls yard and his trainer thinks he may be a "Ryanair Chase contender come the Spring" . He fell in the Paddy Power Gold Cup without showing his hand but has to be a big danger to all if putting in a clear round here. There is another powerful team assembled from the Divid Pipe yard with Our Vic and Tamarinbleu and they have the look, if my ratings can be believed, of a team desperate to win this.

Stakes: - 2 Points win Chapoturgeon
Friday 11th

Wolverhampton 9.20
Results: -Very poor run and faded out tamely.
Coeur De Lionne Lost -1 Point.
Coeur De Lionne (7/1 Betfair)has put two solid runs behind him and although there are others with good form they fail to equal his recent consistency in my opinion.
Stakes: - 1 point win Coeur De Lionne

Wednesday, December 9

Thursday 9th
Huntingdon 2.00

Results: -Not up to winning this, even in first-time headgear.
Tidal Bay Lost -2 Points
Racing Demon is the Henrietta Knight representative in the Peterborough Chase and despite his near 600 day absence is expected to put up a spirited challenge for a yard that has farmed this race over the last few years but that could all be in vain if Tidal Bay(11/4 Bet365) runs close to his best form.
Last season proved an anti-climax for Tidal Bay after finishing 2nd behind Masster Minded in the Tingle Creek the selection seemed to lose his best form but that may have proved a very hard race so early in the season and he may not have recovered from it properly.
Stakes: - 2 points win Tidal Bay
Wednesday 9th
Kempton 8.50

Result: - Travelled well at the back of the field came late to nab Sovento.
Kames Park Won +9 Points
Kames Park (SP) is really well handicapped now in comparision to his old form and as usual with his difficult to call trainer he has become very unpredictable. He has nevertheless put two solid looking runs together and with Jim Crowley onboard again he could return to the fog covered winners enclosure this evening.
Stakes: - 2 point win Kames Park

Saturday, December 5

Sunday 6th
Punchestown 2.05
Result: -Joncol wins from In Compliance.
In Compliance Lost -1 Point.
It is old meets new at Punchestown on Sunday in the John Durken Memorial Chase and with In Compliance now showing winning form for Dessie Hughes he may well take all the beating. The former Michael O'Brien trained winner of this race had an abscence to over come at Thurles due to a muscle problem but won well enough there to suggest he is back to a standard that he can hold his own in this field and with such low miles on the clock the 2006 winner of this race could well win it again. There are a couple of top novices in this and they will also take all the beating but I think Barker who comes here after avoiding the Tingle Creek at Sandown yesterday (did Ruby Walsh give good advice to Willie Mullins about Twist Magic?) and Aran Concerto have other targets when both have a run under their belts and its the Paul Nolan trained novice Joncol who boast the type of form that could give In Compliance most to think about.
Stakes: - 1 Point win In Compliance

Friday, December 4

Saturday 5th
Sandown 2.25

Result: -Wins from the front.
Twist Magic Won +13.75 Points
Twist Magic (11/4 VCbet) can have his own ideas about racing but he still has the best form in this race and if putting his mind on the job he can win this race again as he did in 2007.
Stakes: - 5 Points win Twist Magic
Friday 4th
Wolverhampton 8.50
Result: -Never looked like landing a blow in this race.
Southandwest Lost -2 points.
Once again there are a few in this race with chances and one other with a handicap mark to exploit but again I going for the one that could be the most value and who is also getting support in the market without drawing major attention and although he hasn't won over this distance he could well find this race run to suit his finishing speed.
The Stan Moore trained Southandwest (5/1 various ) is the fellow that catches my eye as the most likly one to save the bookies from Fallon and Williams giving then a bashing.
Stakes: - 2 Points win Southandwest.

Sunday, November 29

Sunday 29th
3.45 Kempton
Result: -Without A Prayer wins.
Shampagne had every chance but faded out at the buissness end. Shampagne Lost -2 Points
Shampagne (8/1 Betfred, Skybet) once again like my recent selectins does not, to date, match-up to the level of form shown others. Without A Prayer has preformed with great credit at a higher level than this in the past and whilst he looks value at 5/1 there is, in my opinion, even more value in backing the Paul Cole 3yo runner in this Listed event. His run behind Pure Poetry over Course and Distance in the Easter Stakes reads like good form and if there is any improvement to come from Shampagne then Jamie Spencer, who has a good record for this stable, will surely find it.
Stakes: -2 Points win Shampagne

Tuesday, November 24

Saturday 28th
Newbury 2.40
Result: -Denman wins.Good run by What A Friend.
State Of Play Lost -5 points.
Hennessy Gold Cup
Denman will be the one with the big reputation and despite a couple of what some describe as "lack lustre" runs last season he still has the best form in this field and like Kauto Star at Haydock he should do his stable proud but he is too short carrying topweight first time out in a field with many that have possibilities.
One such runner is State Of Play (20/1 Ladbrooks) and like Denman is a former winner of this race and after running off an Official Handicap mark of 160 as a career high State Of Play now finds himself able to run off 145 the same mark at which he won this race in 2006 and carries only 10st if the weights don't rise. He won here in 2006 first time up and after showing up so well in last seasons Grand National behind Mon Mone he must rate a fantastic each way punt.
Stakes: - 2.5 points EW State Of Play.

Friday, November 20

Friday 20th
Wolverhampton 8.50
Result: -Broomielaw Lost -2 Points.
Broomielaw (100/30 Betfair) looks the one to side with after suffering all sorts of problems in his limited career but has now put a couple of runs together and it could well pay to follow this fellow on the AW this winter.
Stakes: - 2 Points win Broomielaw

Monday, November 16

Saturday 21st
Haydock 2.55
Result: -Kauto Star wins from Imperial Commander .
Notre Pere Lost -2 Points
Notre Pere takes on Kauto Star in what looks a mouthwatering Lancashire Chase. Kauto would be an automatic choice on form achieved to date but this season will be all about the Cheltenham Gold for the Nicholls Champion and this could well leave the door open for the Jim Dreaper horse to get his season back on track after falling at Down Royal. The Welsh National winner was in the process of running a solid race when he took a rare tumble out in the country when upsides eventual winner The Listener.
Haydock is a tough course and with the weather we are having stamina is a big assett to have on your side and The Guinness Gold Cup winner has plenty in that locker.
Stakes: -
2 Points win Notre Pere

Wincanton 2.15
Result: -Won impressively
Celestial Halo Won +2 Points
Celestial Halo(2/1 Paddy Power) Should be able to make Ruby Walshes return a winning one. Has a good for advantage over his opponents and can also show improvement.

Down Royal 2.30
Result: -Fell
Notre Pere lost -1 Point
Notre Pere (5/4 Ladbrokes) Won the Coral Welsh National last December before going on to the Punchestown Festival in April and taking the Guinness Gold Cup and can add to his tally by taking this from The Listner. 8yo this season, so room for improvement.

Doncaster 3.15
Result: - Well beaten.
Siberian Tiger Lost -2 Points.
Siberian Tiger(20/1 Wiliam Hill) Brings Irish form to the November Handicap and as has been said many times before there seems a descrepancy between handicap ratings gained in Ireland and those gained in the UK mainland. Couple this with the 5lb that Gary Carroll is able to claim and the chance of Siberian Tiger becomes very plausable and with the gifted trainer Tony Martin in such good form he should show up well against as Baila Me and Tastahil.

Sandown 3.20

Result: - Something still amiss.
Bubble Boy Lost -2 Points.
Bubble Boy(25/1 Betfred) Off for a season comes back to the scene of his win and at 25/1 there could be a suprise in store from the Brendan Powell runner. He is very well in on old form.

Stakes: -
1 Point win Celestial Halo
1 Point win Notre Pere

Mourilyan 3rd +3 Points
Mourilyan(16/1 Betfred, Ladbrookes) Looks the strongest of the European challenge and whilst he may not be able to beat all the home team he should be able to reach the frame given his very good run at Goodwood in the March Stakes to beat Victoria Montoya.

Exeter 3.00
Result: -Led but faded close home.

Godolphin have dominated this race in recent years and again look to have the strongest canidate in the form of Prince Siegfried (6/5 Betfair). This easy winner of the Doonside Cup at Ayr should prove too good for the likes of Hebridean.

Knight Legend Lost -2 Points
Knight Legend (Betfair 11/1) Formerly with Jessica Harrington in Ireland and now switches to Philip Hobbs care. Has been running against some topclass chasers and this could be seen as a drop in class and despite the weight he has to give away to the rest of the field and one or two improvers lurking he could make his class tell in this field.

Rare punt on the AW but will take plenty of the 5/1 available about this Gay Kelleway gelding. Put up a good performance last time to finish 3rd behind Captain Macarry over C&D and could find his way through this lot without mishap.

Haydock 4.00
Result: - Look to "blow-up" before two out..
Sir Batwick Lost -2 Points
Sir Bathwick (5/1 Betfair) could be readied for this his seasonal bow and has nothing to fear from these if in the right frame of mind. Jaunty Times is now becoming well handicapped but he has been tried in all-sorts of headgear last spring to no avail.

Yellowstone (50/1 Betfair) has had a break and despite wanting some headgear he could well prove able to accquit himself amongst these without his usual pleats. Longchamp 3.15
Result: - Class racehorse and a pure joy to watch. He again proved his constitution is top drawer by getting into trouble mid-race and then winning like everything went to plan,  class, class animal. The clock didn't lie. Sea The Stars Won +10.5 points(6.5 from September and 4 from today).
Sea The Stars (4/5 Betfair)already carries some interest from September and he has found all the cards falling in his favour with both the weather and draw being kind to his needs and with minimal improvement he can follow his Dam, Urban Sea, into the history books by winning the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. He has shown improvement nearly everytime he has run this season and his lazy long striding style of running masks a very fast animal indeed and his turn-of-foot off a fast pace is the class aspect that is required to win these type of races.
Stakes: -
5 point win Sea The Stars
OCTOBER
Starting this month, October, off with a points based betting Bank which seems in line with other blogs on here and on other websites. I will also mark-up the previous two months losses as from a 100 point bank. Therefore £500/100=5. Therefore I have incurred losses of 71.7(100-28.5) points during August and September.
August Monday 31st £304 P/L -£196 or -39.2 points
September 30th £141.5 P/L £162.5 or -32.5.
I have also included July using the £5000 bank as a 100 point Bank and converting the profit into points
I can see the logic in this approach and would like to thank those who kindly helped me with this aspect. I shall use a textbox to keep this monthly total updated.

I have reached a real turning point with this betting blog. I started off with £500 at the begining of August and it has dwindled away before my eyes like sand in an egg timer.

Upon reading other blogs and especially those belonging to people who use/monitor various tipping services it looks as if I'm not the only one with a receding bank balance of late due to a poor selecting process and with some having been dropped or in the process of being dropped by their subscribers it is indeed a tough and ruthless business in which to make your living.

The fact that others are suffering the same or a similar fate is of little consequence to me or to this blog. Something is not working with my selection process and I need to find out what and or why, fast.

Elsewhere on the Longchamp card the impressive Prix de Diane, French 1,000 Guineas, winner Stacelita should get the better of Dar Re Mi in order to maintain her place close to the fore-front in the Arc betting market. The Gosden filly is no slouch and provides a good yardstick to judge the form on.

Result: - Needs an end-to-end gallop.
Keenes Day Lost -£25
Keenes Day (5/2 Betfair)can land this staying handicap for Mark Johnston after giving a good account of himself at Chester behind Munsef last time out. Raslan the ex-Mark Johnston horse and now with David Pipe could refind his flat form and run well again after his recent fortunate win over timber. The National Hunt season is on the way judging by the amount of that codes runners being entered in races of late.

Stakes: -
£20 Spanish Moon

Result: - Held-up, closed, checked on run to the line.
Mourayan Lost -£25
Last Classic of the flat season and despite the withdrawls we should be in for competitive race all the same. The John Oxx trained Mourayan (15/2 Betfair) is my choice to continue his trainers fine record with 3yo runners in this country. Mourayans run behind Fame And Glory in the Irish Derby looks the form to follow and coming from the same stable as Sea The Stars and Alandi his trainer would have plenty of yardsticks to gauge his level of ability and given Alandi is running in the Irish version at 3.20 could this be the start of a Currabeg double Ledger?

Curragh 3.20
Result: - Never looked a threat.
Profound Beauty Lost -£25
This contest looks so close that a three-way dead-heat would not suprise me.
I think with the ground drying out Profound Beauty (5/1 Betfair) may sneak it from the exceptionally talented Yeats and the Godolphin owned 6yo Schiaparelli
Stakes: -

Latin Love Lost -£25
Going to Tipperary for what looks a race to savour and Latin Love (9/4 Betfair) with Johnny Murtagh riding can find winning ways after a very promising run behind the one time 2008 Oaks favorite Chinese White. This represents a drop in Class and the distance should also help her cause.
Stakes: -
£25 Latin Love

Doncaster 3.10
Result: - Twice Over Won +£16
Twice Over (5/6 Betfair) represents the Coral Eclipse form of this year and as I have stated in earlier posts that the form from that particular looks well worth following and despite Twice Over looking to run a poor race there I still think he has enough in hand here to see off the frustrating mare Sweet Lilly.

Epsom 3.55
Result:- Tried to steal this from the front but was found wanting. Kaleo Lost -£25
Kaleo (5/2 Betfair) won over course and distance in a claiming race last month for Simon Dow and this former Group race runner should be able to follow up now he has his confidence restored. Darrell Holland rides and despite hitting the cross-bar alot on his recent mounts seems to have recovered from his recent bout of flu. The Dow stable were in terriffic form in August and already in the winners circle this month.

Result: - Tried to dominate from the front but faded.
Vainglory Lost -£10
Godolphin have the $400,000 Musleh in great form and this well related C&D winner looks the one they all have to fear in this handicap but he is a shortish price and could find this climb more difficult than his latest sorties on this track. Dave Simcock has his string in very good form as well and Vainglory (16/1 Betfair) could be a surprise winner in this series final. Leopardstown 3.50
Result: - Sea The Stars is a true Champion and proved just too good for this high class field and this race was a brilliant education for all concerned as he was bustled mid-race but Sea The Stars took it all in his stride and left them for dead with pure speed in the straight off a strong looking pace. The going was firmer than the expected "soft" according to his trainer in the post-race interview and the "good to firm in places" reported by the Leopardstown ground keeper last Monday looks less of a joke now. The Arc surely awaits! I have a habit of giving a horse a visual rating in a race and then looking at the time of the race afterwards. Here Sea The Stars was up against the Irish Derby winner Fame And Glory and Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Mastercraftsman, both were so easily disposed of and given the winner was never touched by his rider I easily award the race a 10/10.
Sea The Stars Won -£20
Sea The Stars (10/11 Betfair) is a "likely" runner states the Racing Post and if that is the case then the Oxx colt is on a mission to prove his worth on soft to heavy going and at 10/11 he should be laid and his 13/2 odds (Betfair) for the Arc backed. The reason being if he allays his trainers concerns about performing on soft going and beats Fame And Glory then his Arc price will collapse. There has been much written about Sea The Stars but he has clocked some very fast times this year and as has been said many times the clock doesn't lie and based on the times he recorded I believe he has the ability to win the Arc. Lets hope he doesn't meet his Waterloo on Saturday!

Jeer Lost -£10
Mick Easterby has Jeer (25/1 Betfair ) down at the right end of the weights and like so many at Sheriff Hutton he could well show improvement for the addition of the tongue strap. Won his maiden over course and distance when with Ed Dunlop. He also won a Class 3 handicap at HQ last May off 85 but runs off a lowly 70 here. Has all the hallmarks!

Kingsgate Native Lost -£20
Kingsgate Native (11/4 Betfair) again looks the call in this Group 1 Sprint especially after his powerful display in the Group 3 Audi Stakes at Goodwood. Given that performance he will be hard to beat if gaining a clear passage and as at Goodwood I rate Dandy Man the one who could pose the biggest threat to the 2007 winner of this race making a repeat performance. Stakes: - £20 Kingsgate Native. Thursday 20th
York 2.50
Result: -Never showed.
Fishforcompliments Lost -£5
Richard Fahey is at his local track and with two in this race has options, Paul Hanagan rides the ex-Kevin Prendergast trained Extraterrestrial and that one would seem the stables best option but I fancy Fishforcompliments (90/1 Betfair)who failed to fire in the Stewards Cup at Goodwood when meeting soft ground but now back on the firm and ridden by Frederik Tylicki can now show a bit more of his true colours. York 3.25

Result: - Dar Re Mi Won +£100

Sariska looks much happier with cut in the going and left a good field floundering at the Curragh in heavy ground but this is different and although she handled firm conditions at Epsom Dar Re Mi (5/1 Betfair)maybe able to outstay the double Oaks winner. Stakes: - £5 Fishforcompliments. £20 Dar Re Mi Wednesday 19th York 3.25
Result: - The Betchworth Kid Lost -£15
Going with Hayley Turner and The Betchworth Kid (20/1 Bet365) to continue the rise of trainer Michael Bell's career in a season that could have never been if Hayley had decided to take the Jockey Club's senior medical officers advice. The Betchword Kid seems better suited by a real test of stamina but this course takes some staying and could prove a big help to this fellow who finished 3rd in the Group 2 Goodwood Cup recently. Stakes: - £15 The Betchworth Kid ------------------------------------- Tuesday 18th Day one sees the Ladbrokes Great Voltigeur Stakes and the feature race on the card is the Juddmonte International Stakes. York 3.25
Result: -Maintained his winning run in workman like fashion.
Sea The Stars Won +£12.50
In the Juddmonte Sea The Stars (1/2 Betfair) is the one with a big reputation and it will be difficult for anything to beat this fellow given his improving profile and after he posted a jaw dropping time in the Coral-Eclipse and with subsequent winners from that race posting good performances the form looks very solid. York 2.50
Result: -Disappointed.
Alwaary Lost -£25
Tuesday of the Ebor meeting is Sir Michael Stoutes favorite day in the racing calender. High praise indeed from a man with so many highlights to look forward to during the flat season in this country and further afield. The Voltigeur is seen as a natural stepping stone to the final Classic of the season, the St Ledger but Stoute could be a little disappointing though if my judgement is right in seeing Alwaary (2/1 Betfair) as the winner. His run in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes gives him a great chance on form and if there are any chinks in the armour of the one time Derby touted Harbinger then the Gosden horse will expose them. Stakes: - £50 Sea The stars £25 Alwaary

Epsom 3.10
Result: -Ran well
Indian Trail Lost -£25
Jargelle and Starlit Sands are very closely matched and either are capable of finding more improvement but its the other end of the age spectrum that catches my attention with Indian Trail (5/1 Betfair) looking very well handicapped and with Dane O'Neill back riding he could well roll back the years and give Dandy another winner.

Lillie Langtry Lost -£25
This looks a match between Long Lashes and Lilly Langtry (10/11 Betfair) siding with the O'Brien filly to book her invitation to the Breeders Cup with a win on this more suitable course than was met at Ascot on her only defeat in the Albany Stakes.

4.45
Result: -Never showed
Always Be True Lost -£5
Where did that one come from? Yes thats the phrase that sums-up this race and the pin has come up with Always Be True (24/1 Betfair).

Result: -Reverence won well
Look Busy Lost -£15
Over the years this has been won by the same horse in consecutive years Benbaun, 3 times, for Kevin Ryan and Tedburrow, twice, for Eric Alston, and Eric has Reverence here. Look Busy (7/2 Betfair) won last year with Slade O'Hara riding and despite Declan McDonogh taking over in the saddle I think the filly can improve to beat the Willie Supple/Eric Alston combination, just.
Goodwood
2.45
Result: -Never showed.
Class Attraction Lost -£10
Interesting race with John Hammond bringing over Class Attraction (9/1 Betfair) with Jimmy Fortune on board for Peter Savill and despite the opposition looking strong I take the Montjeu trainer to have planned this raid with success in mind.
3.55
Result: -Unlucky?
Cat Junior Lost -£20
Asset I hoped would give a better account of himself at Deauville LTO but it proved the going was too soft for him there. Still it was a very poor showing. He may well go very close here. Cat Junior (7/2 Betfair) is proving hard to get right and with him not staying any particular distance, well, I will take a chance on this course helping him steal a race and with Darryll Holland being a past master at that tactic I side with the Meehan horse to beat Asset.
Stakes: -
£25 Lilly Langtry
£10 Class Attraction

Windsor 6.10
Result: -Age Of Reason Lost -£25
Not much time unfortunately so short and sweet (I hope) Age Of Reasons (2/1 Betfair) recent run behind Kite Wood is the best form here and if able to show anything close to that then Frankie could bring this one home in front.

6.40
Result: -Just lasted home from Bankable.
Campanologist Won +£31.25
The Winter Hill Stakes signals the end to Windsors summer evening meetings, sadly. The only Group race to be run at this course has been won 6 times in the past by Sir Michael Stoute and this years renewal is a tight looking affair. Kingdom Of Fife is owned by Her Majesty The Queen and despite this owners recent lack of Group success Kingdom Of Fife could well go close here. Richard Hannon loves this track and his Pure Poetry is not far off being good enough to win a Listed or Group 3 event and seeing as this is a weakish looking Group 3 race the Hannon runner could well sneak it. Frankie rides Campanologist (5/4 Betfair)and his run behind Jukebox Jury in the Lancaster Stakes at Haydock and it is the run that looks one of the stronger pieces of form on show here. The ex-Mike De Kock trained Bankable attained even better form than that of Campanologist in Dubai but the plague seems to have beset those that ran at that Carnival. Frankie gets the nod.

Newmarket 3.25
Result: -Fair run.
Swiss Diva Lost -£25
Swiss Diva (10/1 VC bet ) looks well treated in this and like Palace Moon will find the rising ground a help. She is about right in the market at 10/1 given the competitive look of the race and her trainers poor form of late but expectations are she will be better than this lot given her entries.

Goodwood 2.35
Result: -Mourilyan Won +£50
Another St Ledger trial with Urban Poet expected to lay down strong claims to that Classic but if he fails to find the expected improvement then Mourilyan (5/1 VC Bet) could pick up the pieces. The selections latest run at Newbury was a little too short in distance and this extra furlong could prove to be a helpful difference.

3.35
Result: - Delegator Won +£20
The Celebration Mile a Group 2 is the highlight on this card and has proved a happy hunting ground for Sir Michael Stoute, Zacinto, with him winning 5 of the last 9 running's and despite this I still see Delegator (4/5 Betfair )as the winner given his improving profile and the former Brian Meehan trained runner will enjoy this faster track and if the going dries it will all be in the selections favour.

Beverley 3.35
Result: -Masta Plasta Lost -£10
There is an assumption that a high draw is going to be an advantage in this and with the Dandy Nicholls trained Masta Plasta (5/1 Betfair)being in stall 14 and Ed McMahon's Noble Storm in stall 16 we look set for a good duel. Masta Plasta ran well in France and despite what looks strong opposition here the Lady O'Reilly gelding should be far too good if reproducing that run.
Stakes: -
£25 Swiss Diva
£10 Mourilyan
£25 Delegator
£10 Masta Plasta.

Ayr 3.40
Result: -Gambled on but out-classed.
High Severa Lost -£10
High Severa (8/1 Betfair) was highly tried at HQ last time and although found wanting there he could have a good chance here in this much lesser race of reproducing his winning Maiden run when today's jockey was in the plate.

Result: -Fivefootnumberone Lost -£10
Difficult to choose between the top and bottom weights in this and added to this is the competitive look of the race but will go with the John Quinn runner Fivefootnumberone (12/1 Betfair) The selection ran well behind Raccoon in a seller last time and is getting to a handicap mark that makes him worthy of considerable consideration. Sooner rather than later he will be found an excuse for improvement and the soft ground here could well be proffered afterwards as his wont.

This race looks between Big Audio and Raine's Cross (6/1 Bet365) in my book and given Godolphin 2yos are good at finding improvement this will be a fair step-up if their Black Snowflake makes the necessary improvement to beat either of the aforementioned and despite the fact that his Official Handicap rating has gone up to 92 from 86 I doubt that it will happen. Gladiatorus Lost -£10
Gladiatorus (13/2 Bet365) was seen my many as the top older performer in the world before his flop in the Queen Anne at Ascot behind Paco Boy if that run can be forgiven then he has a better chance than his odds suggest.

Pontefract 4.10
Result: -Good run, out-classed.
Kaolak Lost -£20
Just like yesterday the value seems to have been taken earlier with a 10/1 into 4/1 plunge on Kaolak (4/1 widely available) but the horse should still win and I could certainly do with one of those. His run in the Hampton Court Stakes at Ascot is reading very well with many winners coming out of that race since, at a higher level than this, just ahead of him there.
Curragh 4.15
Result: - Heart Shaped Lost -£20
There looks to be a good sprint in prospect here and with Benbaun out the British raiders are weakened but far from out and with the British sprinters showing such superiority of late it is difficult to oppose them but Ballydoyle have such strength in-dept that they are able to drop their lees than very best into races like this in the hope that black type may come their way and Heart Shaped (6/1 Bet365)has the numbers in the book to trouble these. Although not at this distance but race conditions may well level the playing field in her favour.

Berbice Lost -£10
Berbice (13/2 various) is being heavily backed and with pleats applied improvement is expected and if his old form is found then he should easily see off Sir Edwin Lanseer in this oddity of a race.
Newbury 3.10
Result: - Every chance, faded.
Evasive Lost -£25

With Frankie Dettori having such a good record in this race, winning it five times, Evasive (2/1 Bet365) must have an excellent chance to open his account for this season after being tried at a higher level the last twice and on both occasions he posed personal best performances. Last season saw him winning the Horris Hill Stakes here and he looks a worthy favorite.
Newmarket 3.25

Result: - Slow out, held-up, some late headway.
Bonnie Charlie Lost -£25
Bonnie Charlie (20/1 Various)can give Jobe most to think about in a very competitive 3yo handicap despite going unsupported by the Hannon yard.
Ripon 3.55
Result: -Up with the pace on far side, finished a good 3rd.
Advanced Lost -£20
The big sprint handicap of the day and Dandy Nicholls (sorry, Kevin Ryan, surely trains!) has pointed plenty of his good sprinters at this in the past but I fancy Advanced to show his run in the Wokingham at Ascot earlier this season was no fluke and at odds of 12/1(Widely available) he can find the sort of form that won him the Ayr Gold Cup in 07. His young lady jockey does not present a problem in my eyes.
Lingfield 6.00
Result: - Every chance, faded!
Breadstick Lost -£10
A claiming race with some interesting jockey bookings but the Hughie Morrison trained Breadstick (SP) looks the one to be on given the trainers record in this sphere.

£25 Evasive
£25 Bonnie Charlie
£20 Advanced

Newmarket 5.55
Result: -Led, clear, faded.
Burnwynd Boy Lost -£10
Burnwynd Boy (20/1 Bet365) Dandy Nicholls tries blinkers on this 4yo in an attempt to awaken his potential and if blinkers does help this former Ian Semple trained gelding to find his old form again he is indeed on a very lenient mark.
Stakes: -

Richard Hannon has a good record at this his local track and comes here with a fair tool in the shape of Ordinance Row (Weak 12/1 Betfair) who won this race last year from Laa Rayb in a driving finish and despite the Stoute yard having Confront who boast some good Group 2 form I still fancy the Hannon horse to assert again.

Leopardstown 7.25
Result: -Ran 2nd to very smooth winner Profound Beauty.

Result: - Travelled best, strode out well, clear with runner-up of remainder. Chinese White Won +£50

Chinese White (Weak 4/1 Betfair)ran well at this venue last season and that run prompted some tipsters to put her up as a possible oaks contender. Those high aspirations were found wanting at Epsom but back on this track and getting 5lb from She's Our Mark gives her a more realistic chance than she had on Oaks day.
Stakes: -

This race was won last season by Marchand D'Or for the third time making French racing history in the process The raiders from across the channel have come in force this time and Asset (9/1 Betfair) can show his good run behind High Standing was just a pointer for more to come because he will certainly need to find more in-order to beat Naaqoos whilst Kings Apostle seems to need an uphill finish to bring the best out of him.

Ascot 3.30
Result : - Slow out of the stalls but ran on.
Heron Bay Lost -£10
Heron Bay (8/1 Betfair) looks Hayley Turner's best chance of a winner today in her Shergar Cup rides and with 12f and the testing going at Ascot likley to help all looks good.

Haydock 2.40

Result : -Strong, determined run and stayed best.
Jukebox Jury Won +£70

Some races throughout a season produce very strong form to follow and The Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown early last month(July) is looking to be one such race. With Rip Van Winkle winning the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, Conduit winning the King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot there is a lot to like about the finishing position of Jukebox Jury (7/1 Betfair)who was only dispensed with in the last furlong and despite this being a strong race I still expect this 3yo to give a good account of himself from the still improving Duncan.
Stakes: -
£10 Jukebox Jury.
